The Beach Cave 50 steps from the beach

Step out of your door and the sea is right there. This renovated cave home sits on the Parikia waterfront, 50 steps from the beach and about 6 minutes on foot from the ferry port, so you can walk off the boat to your door. Old stone walls, cool quiet rooms and, guests say, the best sleep of their trip. Three bedrooms: two with their own bathrooms, plus an open nook with a semi-double bed. Cafés, tavernas, shops and buses are on your doorstep. Best for up to 4 adults or a family of 5.

Your summer base on the Parikia waterfront: the beach is 50 steps away, the ferry port about 6 minutes on foot, and the sunset happens right outside the front door.

THE HOME

• Bedroom 3, the nook: a semi-double bed in an open alcove off the living area, no door. Ideal for kids or a fifth guest; from the nook you reach a bathroom through one of the bedrooms
• Air conditioning in every sleeping space, cotton linens, extra pillows and blankets

GOOD TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK

This is a cosy cave home, not a big villa. Rooms are compact and storage is limited, so it works best for up to 4 adults or a family of 5. Travel light and you'll love it. There is no TV; the town and the waterfront are the entertainment.

THE AREA

Tavernas, cafés, bars, shops and a supermarket are a few minutes' walk away. The bus station by the port takes you around the island, and boats leave for Antiparos and the beaches. Visiting outside summer? Parikia stays lively all year, and everything is still a short walk.
